Cut was stifled in 1st AB and he pops up. Swings through 85 MPH from Scott in 4th. He looks better vs Bickford in 6th with a hard shot off side of mound that made him out. The least likely to impact Oakland of their many recently signed vets in my opinion

Rips a clean double to LF as leadoff. He had a nice cut vs Bubic. Then steals 3b easy. Against Clarke in 3rd he shows strong pitch recog early. Pops to catcher. In 5th 94 Weiss gets him out swinging.

Takes a middle middle fastball for strike 3 in 6th. Looks at a lot of pitches in both AB and hits the ball to track in RF in 8th when he does swing. Would like to see more of him I see some raw talent.

83 MPH offspeed is on corner for first K. Gets a pitch clock violation for a ball 3 then throws FB by Duggar for out #2. After another pitch clock violation vs JD Martinez, JD hits it off the wall. But he also usesa mystifying change vs Busch to escape jam. He is a pretty good looking pitcher

strikes out after 2 -0 on fastball on 3 straight off speed. Makes one of the best catches I have seen this spring on leaper to rob liner by Hernandez in 4th.In the 5th his laces a single to CF to get the first run of the game.

Walks and steals 2b vs Bubic. Misses swinging on 88 MPH stuff from Clarke then goes down on change. He draws another walk off Weiss in 5th. He still has a great eye but his bat has been off until his laced double in 7th today.

His pitch has spinning sink. Hits DeLuca but shows great pickoff move. Freezes Mann on FB for out #2. Keeps ball away to everyone and so LAD get a couple of hits the other way. He winds up giving up 4 baserunners but no runs due to pickoff

Swings over 93 MPH FB from Weiss in 5th. He takes a couple of close pitches before a badly fooled cut at change for strike 3 in 5th. He has physical tools but not a baseball talent just yet. Want to watch him

Got contact off the barrel from JD Martinez and Busch to get out of a jam. He dominates in 2nd and again in 3rd. Oller asks ump to change ball down 3-0 in count to Duggar and drops 3 straight offspeed for strikes on Duggar. His offspeed looks elite today

Looking FB from Bubic and watches change for K instead. In 5th he lines down LF line foul by a foot...twice. Has good bat control just a little off on timing. He is out swinging at ball that hits his hands. Not a great game.

The big offseason prospect add out of the Murphy deal. Tries to bunt twice and he is out at 1b on decent bunt. He has speed but not 2nd coming of Hamilton. Lines HARD to LF in 7th. Raw athlete is there for sure but baseball star is yet to be seen

Pops up another bunt attempt. Swings and misses at change in dirt to K. Lots of ugly swings today before 3rd AB in 5th with a double down the LF line past 3b. He is a ways off but raw skills are obvious.

Topping out a 92 today. Change at 80. His control is excellent. Out of stretch he struggles to get to 90 and change drops to 77. Gives up hits out of stretch. Uses windup with Reyes at 2b in 4th. He is not impressing on raw stuff but his command and repetoire is working today. Especially noteworthy how he places FB where it is hard to hit when he needs to use it. Through 4 1/3 innings, 6 hits, 1 run
